You're thinking about Chris Carpenter, who is out injured and may never play again. Matt Carpenter is a young, power hitting first baseman who is playing his way into regular playing time at some point soon.

If they want to go:

Gordon
Cain
Butler
Perez
don't care
don't care
don't care
don't care
Escobar (to get on base for Gordon)

then by all means, keep Gordon at 1

A guy who hits constant extra base hits needs to be hitting behind people he can drive in.

That is baseball common sense.
So, can we bring Labron in for a look-see?

It is amazing to me that despite the fact that we've only had 6 home games, our bullpen has blown 3 games, and our two star corner infielders can't hit shit, that this team is 10-7. That gives me a lot of hope.

We have played some really tough teams too. Keeping it up against a tough schedule like we have gives me hope. I just hope our pitching can be this good all year.

I don't consider there to be a correlation between the NBA and the MLB. That's different.

Although I do know that every MLB player (due to amazing hand eye coordination) could shoot a basketball.

I'm just not sure basketball players could hit a baseball...that's technique. Baseball has a lot of technical skills that are acquired through years of training and coaching.

Basketball and football are much more natural athlete sports.

well what has been the ONE weakness of our team this year?

The hitting. The lineup.

either lead off Escobar and hit Gordon 3rd

or hit Gordon 2nd and Escobar 9th

we need Gordon to be in position to hit with runners on base
