Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

Pioli still would acquire Cassel, but there might have been an outside shot of getting Hasselbeck like Haley wanted.

I started a thread against the trade and got less than positive responses from people here.
There's no need to call them out, but there are people in this very thread that were shouting down anybody that dared question Pioli and/or Cassel for the first couple of years.

I can proudly state that I was against the Cassel acquisition before it was even made. His 2008 'coming out' against the Jets on primetime (Thursday night game, IIRC) was laughably inept and yet all the broadcasters could do was suck his dick.

That guy threw for 400 yards doing nothing but chucking the ball 5 yards off target and praying that someone would haul it in. It was amazing how many passes he just flat missed on. Starting the next day we were hearing about Matt Cassel: Franchise Quarterback.

I called him a taller Tyler Thigpen and I'm pretty sure that does Thigpen a disservice.

The sheen wore off before he'd even hired his head coach. By the time the draft got here, even before the Jackson rumors started, he'd already ****ed up his coaching search, overpaid for a shitty backup, had been rumored to have extended said backup and gone out to hire as many Patriot re-treads as possible.

I've never seen anyone exposed as a fraud as quickly and thoroughly as Scott Pioli.

Other "What If..." scenario; what if Denver, being coached by Josh McDaniels at the time, were successful in trading for Cassel?

Remember, Cutler got his panties all in a bunch when McDaniels wanted to trade for Cassel.

Don't see any difference in how things would have played out for Denver had they got Cassel. Horseface would get control, toss Douche McDaniels, sign Manning et cetera et cetera.

God damn, I hated Cassel.
I will say this is true of Alice for me. Personally, I gave Cassel some slack as he was new to a starting position. After the 25-7 season of 2010 and Pro Bowl berth, I thought if he can just continue his upward arc he could be a top ten QB.

I was right but it turned out he was hot garbage instead.
