Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Man, I am soooo pumped for Black Swan, I can't even tell you!

Black Swan is my current #1 so no surprises it's at #2.

Now, I consider myself an avid movie goer and independent film viewer but there's a shit ton on that list I ain't neva heard of. I never did get around to seeing Winters Bone though. Will before Oscar season.

One tiny surprise is that It's Kind of a Funny story didn't make the top 50? I'm doubting that.

That's why I posted the list... it was such a weird list with tons of films I'd never heard of... I thought the buffs would appreciate it and find some inspiration.

The movies on it may actually suck, but the list was definitely different.

Caught Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. It's certainly not for everyone, but I got a big kick out of it. It's a lot of fun.

I'll buy the DVD. My boys are 12 and soon to be 14. The younger boy got a little Scott Pilgrim graphic novel from the library, and they both read it and talked a lot about it. The older boy is big into guitar.

They'll get a kick out of seeing the movie. And I'd watch it more than once.

That is an interesting list. Also interesting is that some of the movies aren't from this year. Looks like they are including some theatrical re-releases.? I think the Circus came out in the 1920s. And Godard's Breathless is from the 1960s. That's all I can immediately identify.

Evidently those old movies are being re-released in theatrical showings. From O'hehir in the comments of the article:

I've re-watched Let the Right One in, TMNT 1 and 2.

Mind-boggling flicks I tell you..

I enjoyed all 3. TMNT 3 is a piece of shit.

In a long, long list of completely horrendous and unfortunate sequels, TMNT 3 might be the worst. Ever. I'm embarrassed for the folks involved in that little abortion. I sometimes think about sending them all candy. And money. And booze.

I have, yes. I liked it, but not as much as Happiness.
