and in all honesty, the Giants probably would've just given him the bag if he really wanted it...doubt the pitcher was worried about a steal there one iota

Just have to shake that one off. Liken it to giving a chump the first punch before you beat his ass into the ****ing pavement so he can at least say he got one good one in.

Looks like the layover wasn't good. We'd wrapped up our sweep while The Giants played 2 more games in their series with the Cardinals.

We should do much better tomorrow night, as the dropoff in skill level on the mound for the Giants is ****ing astronomical. The rest of their starters are all at least 4 games under .500.

The situation dictated a lot. Down 3 runs early against an ace pitcher, and you saw our guys start pressing and chasing some serious junk pitches. James really ****ed us in that first inning, and it threw off the approach to the rest of the game.

Against Peavy we should be able to generate offense much easier, not press so much, and have much better at bats. Hopefully Ventura brings his A game and doesn't wilt like Shields did. NL guys love the heaters, so his 100+ stuff is only going to get him so far with these guys.

Hell, as long as he doesn't spot them 3 in the first Ill be happy.

And you realize stealing and possibly giving away an out doesn't help you score 6 runs which comes from guys being on base and hitting homers or extra base hits. You keep talking about this DP ball so let's talk about it. If the guy up next hits into what was a DP with a guy on first, then the same ball still results in 1 out to first anyway if that runner had stolen 2nd and a guy would now be on third and still no runs. The next guy up still has to get a hit to score even one meaningless run. Getting 1 run is worthless late in that game. You need way more than one run which results from guys being on and big hits happening. The Giants would give us a run for an out that late so it's why stealing is straight dumb when down late. YOU NEED LOTS OF RUNS!
