ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the San Diego Chargers are shopping LB Donnie Edwards. For Edwards, the Chargers want a second-round NFL Draft choice. Edwards is entering the final year on his current contract.

A 10 year veteran, with a torn meniscus. Not a horrible injury to have, it's cartilage right?

Anyway, I would love to have him back. He may be getting up there but he's a consistent tackler, which we do not have (DJ not withstanding), but I agree, a 2nd rounder is way too high for him. I still get pissed thinking about how good he would have been for us the past 5 years.

Yea, this is kind of strange. It's not like SD needs the cap space.

I wonder if they entered into contract talks to try and lock him up early, and realized he was going to be too unreasonable in his demands. Maybe they figure it's better to get something for him now than just let him walk at the end of the season.

By the way. I think Edwards would be a solid OLB in a Cover 2.

Yeah. if he recovered from his injury.

Would love to see him back if only for a couple more seasons.

Incentive contract and a 3rd rounder.
