24 (ahem business) hours...
That's the latest customer support nonsense I heard today.

Yesterday I called to get help with a domain name issue, and the guy said it would be corrected in 24 hours.

I call back today and the next customer support person said that it's "24 business hours" not "24 hours". The hidden assumption there is that they assume that there are 8 business hours in a day. Never mind that they are open 24 hours a day.

There really is no end to the bullsh*t that compaines will come up with to get you to think one thing while they deliever something else.

Tell me 24 hours, when it will really take 3 days.

Network Solutions charges 4x the price of other domain registrars and claim that their high quality of service justifies the difference in cost. How obnoxious is this BS?

FTR, The eventual goal of the support call will end with me transfering my domain.

The issue involves red tape and hiring CSR's who cant spell empathy let alone know what it is. Indeed, the companies bad on that one. If it were me id demand to speak to a manager, write a letter and do whatever to make them hear your complaint. We all assume that the CEO doesn’t care but bad customer service is a virus that we DONT have to settle for.

My favorite line of bullshit was when my wife and I went into a store called 3 DAY BLINDS assuming we could get our blinds in 3 days when in fact it just means your order gets placed with the manufacturer within 3 days, the actual blinds take 2-3 weeks to be delivered to you.
