Random ChiefsPlanet Stats

There are all sorts of stats about the forum buried in the Admin CP. I'd love to make those available to everyone, but I haven't really found an add-on that does it well. But, I'm a stats geek, so I might bump this thread from time to time with useless tidbits that I find interesting.

Everybody's rep power has been decreased it seems. it's a calibration system that you can adjust. I'm a mod at a Jet site and did the rep calibrations there. it's all about the point system. Skip.
How can you tell how many points a person is worth?

It's a personal secret that only me and GoBo know about. but any mod can see what a poster's rep power is in their profile.

I remember when I used to put the rep system in hyperdrive for 5 or 10 minutes at random intervals. That was kinda fun sometimes.

I just looked mine up and it was 20 out of 147 for 13.6%. If my next 13 threads are 100+ threads, I'll take the lead. I guess I need to be really choosy on my next few threads.

If your next 13 threads are 100+ threads you will have 33 of them, far, far behind the leader who has 122. Forget it, n00b.

That's a lot of data. If anyone is curious to really do some detailed analysis, I can give you a spreadsheet of posts or threads by day for the entire life of the board. Just let me know if you're interested.

A couple of interesting charts I was able to pull out real quick. I'll also take requests for analysis as long as they're not TOO in-depth...

Looks like we're down a bit on daily posts for 2008. However, we haven't come to the busiest time of the year (based on the first graph), so I'll bet that'll climb up as the year goes on.

As evidence of how well the new server served its purpose, two of the top three days in terms of posts in the Planet's history were the draft days. We had 6517 posts on April 26 and 5782 on April 27. I'd bet our gamedays will see much higher posts volumes this year, based on that.

Ignoring days during the server transition and days when the Planet's server was on fire, the lowest number of posts in a day this year has been 962 on July 8.

this is an initial indicator that the server is up to the task for game day action....

do you have stats on number concurrent users vs posting stats.... and db response time... this is likely a tough one but a real indicator of
is the server "horse enough" to handle concurrency and still give decent response. databases in general are I/O bound.
