The draft cannot get here quick enough for these threads to stop.

I have nightmares thinking of the quick no-huddle teams we'll face this year, and how DeVito and Jackson won't be able to get off the field for a sub-out. Unless Poe learns how to breach through the hull, we'll be getting precisely zero pressure from our 3 linemen, which has been the case ever since we switched to the 3-4.
Richardson would probably be the solution to that problem. Leave him on the field. Might get gashed once or twice, but at least QBs aren't going to have all day to throw if we don't want to send an extra guy like DJ or Berry on a blitz. |

What, you mean football threads?
Sorry. Maybe people can work twice as hard to post "The Royals made poopy in the toilet!" rep threads. I'm sure houstonwhodat has a few more weird web stories up his sleeve that he'd like to share as well. |

Personally, the Baylor film is intriguing to me. My philosophy on stopping the ZR is a combo of both 2 and 1 gap principles on your front, (see Pittsburgh v. Redskins) Effectively, you'd have one player who got upfield quickly, which would either A) Blow up the lead or IZ play, or B) Force the QB to take it himself. However, by keeping your DEs in 2-gap principles, you have an advantage. Additionally, you can create more confusion, such as utilizing this out of 5DB packages and running an IDB blitz.
Just some thoughts from someone who had some Bombay tonight. |

He's an absolute animal, but his conditioning could also use improvement and he is the kind of guy who could poison a locker room if things aren't going well. He's not a bad person, but he's definitely a knucklehead.
At the college level he was more dominant than Aldon Smith.

I think Poe will provide some pass rush from the NT position this year. With the change to a more attacking style defense, his initial quickness should be an asset. Plus he has a year of experience in the league.
Richardson would provide some pass rush from the 3 tech, but would teams decide to run at him since stopping the run isn't his strong suit? IMO, Star could play either the 3 or 5 tech and provide some pass rush while not being a liability vs. the run. He's not the pass rusher that Richardson is, but I think he's the more complete player. |

The ability to play multiple techniques is exactly why Poe was drafted and DeVito was signed. Don't think of DeVito as a DE and OLB. He can play the five technique and also play more of a 4-3 tackle or the nose. Poe isn't there but the talent is. He wasn't bad in the nose next year and he has tremendous ability to play the five tech too. Will he develop into that? Yet tobe seen. It's why I never understood the hate for the Poe pick. If he develops as planned, he is exactly the kind of player you need to beat the no huddle. To the point of the thread, this pick would be fine with me. DeVito is a nice to have, but he can be upgraded and depth is never a bad thing at that position. |

And totally redeem yourself. Damn it, Sheldon is my guy. He's got some attitude too. Love him to be the pick especially if we could trade down to 4 |

I can't help but think he's Chester McGlockton -- a guy who's going to make some spectacular plays, but then disappear for stretches, and if things are going badly he's going to walk up to the opposing team's coach and say, "Yo, get me outta here."
