Attack of the nOObs!

What's the deal? Were we all supposed to create a mult this week and manage multiple voices in our heads? I'm already doing that with George Blowfish! And I can barely control him!

There's a notorious net full of nattering nOOb naybobs nesting in our lounge. Where's our mods?

Somebody stop this before I go QUAD!

Yes, we are here to warn you of what's to come. When I heard Reid went to the Chiefs and saw how giddy Chiefs fans were, I couldn't in good conscious go without trying to warn as many as possible. Eagles fans know what it's like to suffer as a fan base, and you guys have suffered enough.

I disagree with my EMB brethren. I don't think Reid is capable of turning a franchise around anymore unless he undergoes a major metamorphosis in his philosophy. What the national media won't tell you is that Reid inherited a lot of talent from Ray Rhodes and Tom Modrak, and benefited from those players as well as from Jim Johnson and McNabb in his prime. He was never able to replace these figures. As his power over the team increased and the turnover began, the team regressed. What followed was a series of dumbfounding and mystifying decisions, including (but not limited to) letting Dawkins go to the Broncos with no replacement, continually drafting small, undersized defenders, ignoring the linebacker position altogether, signing Vick, making his offensive line coach the defensive coordinator, bringing in Howard Mudd and Jim Washburn, and many more. All of these moves were a result of an increasing desperation and desire to replace the coaches and players he lost.

This is on top of the myriad of gameday issues he has which have held the Eagles back in countless games, including in every playoff loss they've had and the Super Bowl in '05. His clock management and play-calling are woeful.

My only hope for the Chiefs is that with a new franchise, he feels pressure to significantly change his ways and right what he did wrong in Philly. Of course, none of that does us any good, but we're just happy he's not here anymore. I've always hoped well for the Chiefs because they seem to have such a big, passionate fan base.

Agreed, Jim Johnson was more responsible for us making it to the Superbowl then Reid was.

Oh, I made a wise choice to become a Chiefs fan let me tell you. Could have been a Giants fan, nope. Actually are a decent amount of Chiefs fans around here. Especially when I went to a game in BAL in 03. There were a boat load of them. Must have been 15-20 in my section alone.

There used to be a Chiefs STH in all 48 continental States. Not sure if that got Pioli'd.

Yeah, we know. What I think a lot of Eagles fans have trouble understanding, though, is that we haven't won a playoff game since NINETEEN ****ING NINETY THREE. For us, the level of success Reid has had in Philadelphia is nearly unfathomable.

In a lot of ways, Reid leaving Philly is similar to what we went through when Marty left here. Most don't really want Marty back, but we sure miss having a team that's at least competitive.

Yes. I am as big a "SB or bust" guy as any, but in the end, be careful what you wish for Philly.

Yes. They seemed to have calmed down enough to have normal conversation for the most part.
