I don't think he meant that literally, I think he meant that he's the used car salesman type of person.

Trying to sell himself as Woodbury's savior while lying to them and being ruthless behind the scenes.

Finale Reshoot!! Another Clue To Why AMC Changed WALKING DEAD Showrunners Again??

Published at: April 2, 2013, 8 p.m. CST Share On Facebook Twitter

I am – Hercules!!

Word is original “Walking Dead” showrunner Frank Darabont got the boot midway through season two because AMC didn’t like the first season-two episode he wrote (indeed, most of that episode wound up on the cutting room floor).

Now comes word that a big chunk of third season finale -- script credited to outgoing showrunner Glen Mazzara -- was scrapped and reshot from a new script written (without onscreen credit) by Scott Gimple, who takes over as the series’ showrunner starting with season four.

The reshot scenes were those that focused on the locked room containing tied-up Andrea and the mortally-wounded Milton.

Dallas Roberts, who played Milton, compared and contrasted the Mazzara and Girmple versions of the script for Entertainment Weekly:

Originally, the beating scene that started the episode wasn’t there. Originally, I showed up and was led into the room where Andrea was and I took the tools out – the instruments of torture that were laid on the table — and then he shot me in the stomach, completely unexpectedly. And then I was left to bleed out in the same idea basically — you’re going to kill her now. There was a lot more of Milton trying to open the door and him trying to free her from the chains. And then there was a section where he was going to wrap the chain around the neck and try to choke her to death before he turned so she wouldn’t have to deal with Walker Milton, or Biter Milton, as it were.

And then at the end of that, it was just Tyreese and someone else who found her. Rick and Daryl and Michonne weren’t there. So it was essentially the same idea, except you saw me taking chunks out of Laurie Holden in that version. And then they called us back a few months later to reshoot it and made all those changes. So now you’re not sure if I’ve gotten her until after that door opens, and I think that’s probably why they did it.
hile in the broadcast version Milton permanently lost his trademark eyeglasses during The Governor’s opening-scene enhanced interrogation, the publicity stills showing a bespectacled zombie Milton are actually from the discarded Mazzara version.

Gimple, hired by Darabont at the start of season two, wrote two of this year’s most acclaimed episodes: “Clear,” featuring the three-years-later return of Lennie James as Morgan Jones; and “This Sorrowful Life,” depicting the final exit of Michael Rooker’s Merle Dixon.

Started reading the comic yesterday... Just got through the first two books, so the gang just arrived at the prison. So far, relatively close to the books. Only complaint I have so far is how everyone talks - every talks in the same manner; it's like they don't have their own "voice." Kinda irritating.

There's footage of Milton biting Andrea with gory effects. I can't remember where I saw it, but it was while I was surfing all the episode reviews. In an interview Laurie Holden mentions the two versions, and indicates that Andrea originally was going to die T-Dog style by being bitten, but that she preferred the second version where she's alive but bitten and decides to end it herself.

I recently started reading the comics too and I'm on book 5 (issue 25 - 30). I like how the comics are playing out a little better and I'm not seeing many similarities to the show.

I do agree with your assessment of the voices.

ya, that finale was the worst episode in the entire series. It was just downright stupid.

How the **** are those pliers supposed to unlock handcuffs? C'mon.

Yeah it was just a terribly written episode. We see Andrea kicking 4 walkers asses a couple episodes prior, but she can't handle Milton zombie? Plus they didn't even show it? What a cop out.

hahaha. pliers. right.
I was thinking she shoulda had him try to crawl over to her so she could skull stomp him when he was dead.....but he seemed pretty far gone.....and I'd bet that crushing a skull from a sitting position may be pretty damn hard unless you got some big ole work boots on or something....

I have loved almost every episode this season, most people hated most of them, but I thought each episode was awesome. I must say that the last episode was lame, it was a terrible end to the season, I dont even care about next season, which sucks, but oh well. I thought the whole finale episode was just sucky.

The first scene in the finale was great (before the intro rolled with the Governor, Milton, and Andrea). The rest...not so much.

ya, it's surprising because the episode right before it was ****ing awesome. I was very disappointed, not even excited for next season. But of course I'll watch. But damn, that was a very poorly written episode all around. What a joke.
