Battlefield 3

Anyone looking forward to this? I really like BC2, but haven't been playing it long.

Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

I have unlocked all weapons for both Co-Op and the regular game. The M39 is outshined by the SKS. The 93R is fun to play with sometimes but once you have the G18, the 93R is set on the back burner. Haven't used the G3A3 to have a honest opinion. MP7 keeps rounds on target but is limited in range and clip size. The only weapon I use regularly from Co-Op is the SG553. I prefer it over the Scar-H.
Alright thanks.

so last night I had one of my best/most fun games yet.
it was on Kharq Island.

my team started out by getting slaughtered with tanks and Helicopters etc. It was so frustrating. Then, for whatever reason, I remember "wait a minute....I can change classes after I die". lol. You veterans will obviously know this, but for any newbies reading this - keep that in mind! Change it up if whatever you're doing isn't working.

I switched to an engineer class and tore stuff up; shooting down 4 helos; and 2 F/A 18s that just kept circling low and somewhat slow. I think I used the SA-18. I was also able to kill some tanks by placing some mines along the route/near the flags. Kablooey!

then, I kept getting sniped, so i broke out the RPG to kill probably 3 snipers.

Finally, hopped in a tank and defended one of the last objectives from a decent distance and just shelled the crap out of the buildings /area around the flag while the other teams' tickets just ticked away. For the first time I was in the top 2 in scoring; I think I scored around 4000 points (which, is a TON compared to my usual 1000-1800).

This game rules.

me too. I usually do ok in points because i play the class, and really try to stay with my squad and fill that role. But last night I had a great k/d (like 13/5) and a lot of points. Usually points are good, buy my k/d sucks. one thing I know is, the gun I use in support class, I'm inaccurate as all get out with that gun. I just shoot in bursts with it if I'm trying to kill a guy and not just suppress, but the thing is all over the place.

I've found I know how to get around on certain maps better than others. And found that certain flags are damn near impossible to recapture if the other team takes it.

But, I'm getting better at knowing what I'm doing, what my team is doing as a whole...and what is/is not working and mixing it up.

Of course, the rounds that I play with a team where at the beginning of the map everyone scatters like roaches and remains fragmented the entire match, is really frustrating. Like there are times where the only time I see another squad mate is when I spawn on him, then he's outta there never to be seen again lol.

We had some close ones we lost that we should of had too. Fun night overall. The highlight was Metro station though. Love that map when you can seal off two capture points.

funny you should mention that.
I played on a team last night (was only able to play 2 rounds) that scattered like roaches/no squad tactics; and when they/we all finally got killed and started respawning near each other, we were getting SMOKED on Metro. At the back of the ticket platform (that goes outside) and the other one upstairs (can't remember the name of the flag) before the ticket platform.

it was just a bloodbath. Nothing we did worked. I played another round with that same group on Caspian Border, and it was the same thing. everyone running on their own. It sucked. Like, I would be defending a flag, and a dude would run up and kill me.....then just run off, even though I was the only one defending the flag. WTF. Why would he not even attempt to capture it. So, in those games, it was nothing but guys with K/D of like 19/2, or 23/8 etc, yet we lose by like 215 tickets.

I'm having much more luck playing Conquest with Randoms than Rush...you don't need as much team work with Conquest.

I think i played 1 or two games on Rush and got anihilated. Like..'couldn't even move'-anhilated. lol

Does anyone know which markers on the mini-map indicate your squad members? Is it the blue ones or the green ones?

also, how the F do I place C4?

I prefer Rush, but unless you have a good squad it's tough.

Green markers indicate squad mates. Blue ones are everyone else on your team. You place C4 with the left trigger on XBOX and detonate with the right...probably the same on PS3. Both when you have the detonator in your hand.
