Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

In 2012 you need 1)a plus player at QB. 2)a better than average defense 3)a running game

In that order.

This franchise is still stuck in the 1950s. Hard work could get a guy anywhere he wanted to go in the league. The more blue collar you were, the better player you were.

To this fanbase that hasn't had their fill of regular season feel-good Arrowhead wins where they smoke up the best-smelling parking lot in the NFL, they need to find a QB who wins those games ASAP. So that's all they look at is bullshit college wins

Colon Klein = winner, blue collar, God-fearing local kid = AWESOME
Geno = 7-5, lazy, hip hop culture, crack dealing black guy who never smiles = BUST

God, somebody PLEASE ****ing call in and tell them all about the great "winners" in college and how far that got them in the pros:

Ken Dorsey
Tim Tebow
Eric Crouch
Josh White
Colt McCoy
Kellen Moore

etc.

Just further clarifying the fact that you can make your 1st-round QB "not one-dimensional" without using any more first rounders.

Honestly, it's usually Petro and Keitzman laying into the callers because they're calling up wanting to trade down or take Manti Te'o.

I had a call so I missed this last segment. I know Petro isn't high on Geno Smith but he's said repeatedly this team HAS to take a QB, they don't have a choice. I think he likes Barkley, but he's never really said.

Ummm, I'm confused on how matt markley or geno smith is worth $70,000,000 , I'd rather draft a derrick Thomas or ray lewis and sign or trade for a good quarterback, if it were last yr s draft, then yeah, grab luck or rg3... But you want a jamarcus Russell?

Well, he's got a point. I don't think Matt Markley will even get drafted. The Chiefs should absolutely stay the **** away from him in the first round.

The biggest problem is that's there's too much analysis of individual stats and not enough actually watching guys play football. Looking at numbers does not give you "knowledge" about a player or a team.

And let's be real here: how many people outside of the state of West Virginia actually watched more than one WVU game this year? Although I guess the Big XII helped some in that regard. But probably not all that much.

(People in this thread don't count...)

Completely and utterly uneducated. Completely oblivious to the CBA and rookie payscale.

Cam Newton's contract was 4 years, $22M. Andrew Luck got 4 years, $22.1M.

For the Record, I am totally anti Matt Barkley.

I've been all Geno-Smith or bust on my facebook.

What's really sad is that they would rather give $70M to a LB than a ****ing QB.

And what's even more sad than that is that said LB is automatically Derrick Thomas or Ray Lewis but a QB is automatically Jamarcus Russell.

No thought to the idea that the $70M LB could be Andray Bruce while the QB could be Eli ****ing Manning.

what's sad is that they care about Clark's money more than winning...

which is, of course, just another version of "oh no, it risky!"

They're worried about the money because they think if you sink $70M into a QB, you're stuck for 3-4 years.

Of course, they're right. But the ONLY way in this day and age that happens is to do EXACTLY what they want - SIGN A RETREAD LIKE MATT CASSEL OR ALEX SMITH.
