Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I bought a Liberty safe that can hold 12 rifles for $350 last year. Liberty safes are pretty good.

When you "install" it, bolt it to the floor, wall, etc. A motivated thief will get anything out of your house.
I am sort of limited to a Gander Mountain, Sportsman Warehouse and Dick's Sporting Goods around my area.

Will keep my eyes out on the Liberty safes.

What is the fire rating on yours?

My cheap little safe is rated for 30 minutes. The big one are 45 minutes to an hour.

Dicks has suspended the sale of all "modern sport rifles" indefinitely.

I hate everyone.

**** them, then.

Don't give them any more business from here on out.

Are they really stupid enough to piss off almost all of their customer base? Idiots.

After looking back through the stores online website, it was in fact a Liberty Centurian unit that I as checking out earlier today.

rated 20 minutes at 1200ºF

Kind of cramped for 10 guns in the unit I was checking out, but it would be much better than nothing.

How important is fire rating really?

Should I seriously etimate the time it will take a firetruck to get to my cabin and put out a large fire in case the woodstove flames the place up?

You can fit 8 rifles with scopes in one and still have the top shelf for a little storage.

I think that is the safe I bought for 350. It was cheap but really nice.

Whoops.

It's obvious I have never been in a "Dicks". I was picturing Cabelas or Bass Pro.

Why would someone want to buy a rifle from a soccer-type store anyway?

The Dicks up here never did sell guns. Neither to any of the Walmarts. Bass Pro Shops (at least in the Chicago area) sell some guns, but not "assault" rifles.

The only major chain up here that does sell ARs is Cabelas.

I actually bought a Ruger 10/22 from them a couple years ago. They had it on sale, and I couldn't resist.

You should have seen the crowd at Cabela's in Kansas tonight. JFC! I waited in line for an hour and actually got lucky because I was number 89, they were on 50 when I got there, and someone who had 74 put it down and left and I grabbed it. That saved me an hour alone just waiting. Then I waited another hour just to sign the paperwork for the background check. Then I waited another 1.5 hourse for the background check. They said the FBI was so backed up they couldn't even get through.

And guess what most of the people were buying????
