Dee Ford, Bueller... Bueller... Bueller...

If this a repost suck it.

http://www.foxsports.com/kansas-city...of-them-120314

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Florida State's Kelvin Benjamin was still on the board, if you're curious; Carolina took him at No. 28. He's 6-foot-5 and has 57 receptions, 824 receiving yards and eight scores as a rookie receiver with the Panthers. Which, if you're still curious, would make him tops in all three categories on the Kansas City Chiefs' roster at present.

Nevada's Joel Bitonio was also on the board; Cleveland took him at No. 35. He's 6-4, 302 pounds, and has a ProFootballFocus.com grade of +21.1 on 852 snaps at left guard.

The Chiefs' two starters there have grades of minus 25.9 (Mike McGlynn on 747 snaps) and minus 15.6 (Zach Fulton on 766 snaps), respectively.
Vanderbilt's Jordan Matthews was on the board, too; Philadelphia took him at No. 42. He's 6-3 and has 54 catches, 686 yards and seven receiving scores as a rookie wideout with the Eagles.

Which, yes, would also place him at No. 1 in all three categories with the Chiefs through 13 weeks.

Now we mention all this not to pile on first-year outside linebacker Dee Ford, the man the Chiefs tapped with pick No. 23, although he hasn't been heard from in weeks, save for a special-teams tackle here or there. Nor are we necessarily lighting the blowtorch in the direction of general manager John Dorsey, whose track record here, more than two years in, still features more hits than misses.

But we will say this: When you connect the dots with No. 55, the figure on the page ends up looking a lot like a giant question mark, doesn't it?

I'm with you. I was in the Alex Smith train, but I'm about done with it. Dude is too conservative. Unless we have a line like Dallas where we can (sometimes) run all owe people he's not gonna help us. God Damnit!! ****!! AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!! Hope for the best, prepare for the rusty cactus!

It might be time to move on from the 3-4.
This defense is the #3 ranked scoring defense and #9 ranked defense. Without DJ. Mostly without Berry. Poe and Houston aren't going anywhere.

So... because we can't replace Hali, the solution is to start over and find two 4-3 DEs? Not easy to do. We would have to find two DTs or assume that our 3-4 guys will make the transition. Not easy to do. We have to find a sideline-to-sideline MLB. Moving away from the Ryan defense would require us to find an elite FS.

We are a few pieces away from an excellent 3-4 and we're talking about overhauling it to a 4-3?

I hear ya. He is what he is. I had hopes after last year's second half but I can't stomach this year's version. ONE pass over twenty yards

I'm really sick of all the Kelvin Benjamin jizz gargling.

For all we know the dude's going to have a sophomore slump for the ages given his bullshit teams dealt with in draft interviews.

Alex. Does. Not. Throw. TDs. To WRs.

He barely throws to them period.

We'd probably be bitching up a storm about Benjamin being a bust if we drafted him. I doubt the dude would have even cracked 300 yards here.

Dee Ford is gonna be a stud.

Lots and lots of crow gonna get served

He will be splitting snaps with Hali next year (at a reduced contract) and I think will be a pro bowler once he becomes a solid run defender.

The guy has the tools to be consistently disruptive.
