laptop is this any good
The daughter, aged 29...errr 17, needs a laptop/computer for school and surfing/social crap etc. Not real big on gaming or large number crunching.
I'm not gonna spend an arm and a leg for the latest and greatest. The wife found this model for $130 factory refurbished. She took one look at it and asked where the bag was? It came shipped in a brown box. Does it have PowerPoint? I guess for school. I said no...you need MS Office???? for that and to buy at Walmart is going to be expensive. She stormed out of the room "I don't want some old piece of crap that I have to load up everything". Dell Latitude D630,74 Gb HD, Windows XP Professional Version 2002 svc pack 3, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU, T7100 @ 1.88GHz, 1.18 GHz 1.99 Gb RAM, DVD-RW Drive. So, is this a "old piece of crap"? I thought for the price, it was a decent workable device. It does have Open Office loaded. Is there PowerPoint with that? Ahh, I just went digging and found a MS Office xp version 2002 standard for Students and Teachers CD set that I bought a long time ago. Would that serve her purpose? It says includes word/excel/outlook/PowerPoint. Thoughts? |
