Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

All three of these QB prospects are better than Ryan ****ing Tannehill.

Am I the only who remembers Jerod "I play in the UFL" Johnson beating this guy out?

And to boot, Tannehill had 2 very good OT's going top 15 in April, a good pass rusher who's going top 5 again in April, Ryan Swope and Cyrus Gray and he still ****ed up games when he had leads going into halftime.

**** Tannehill. All these guys are better than him.

You know me, I'm not trying to put you on the spot nor am I aiming for a "Gotcha" moment.

If that's the case, I'd be more than happy to see him drafted.
He is way above Tannehill. Barkley is as well.

I wasn't high on Tannehill either. But I will say after seeing him out there on an NFL field, Tannehill is kind of like Jake Locker. Not in style really, but you watch them play and you can see they have raw talent.

But I don't get why people get excited about Tannehill and don't like Geno Smith. I feel like Geno's floor is Sam Bradford. I guess it all depends on the situation obviously, but seeing coaches have success adjusting to Russell Wilson and Kaepernick, surely someone can take advantage of Geno's accuracy.

Barkley im not a fan of. I am hoping to take Geno at 1. Geno IMO is the best QB prospect, high IQ a football nerd, great touch and accuracy and arm strength

I dont understand why Geno is getting more play in the media as a good prospect. Give him a defense and WV has a few more wins. Geno had clutch drives only for the defense to give it up

He's not perfect, but I think some of his perceived problems have at least as much to do with the team he's on as they do with him. You can say a lot of the same things for WVU that people will say for Arkansas. Bad, bad o-line, not even a semblence of a defense so he's put under constant pressure to score. As many rushing yards as they got, they really didn't have any kind of legit threat at RB, at least not in my opinion (nobody on the team aside from Austin had a run over 30 yards the entire season). Bailey and Austin were tremendous receivers, so that obviously helped him, but I don't remember them ever really having a TE involved in the passing game this year, everything seemed to go through WRs and RBs, so he never really had a big TE safety net the way a lot of QBs do at least not that I remember. I think he was primarily throwing to guys in the 5'9-6' range, so obviously there's going to be a lot of short stuff.

And hey, they lost games. That's the killer. They lost games, and he gets the blame for that. Against K-State, I think he deserved it. Other games, I'm not so sure. They turn around a couple of 1-point losses where the defense gives the game up after he leads the team to late scores and we're talking about a QB on a 9-win team, and he probably looks a lot more like Griffin in the public eye.

But he can do everything you want. He's shown he can read the field, he's shown he can go through progressions, he's shown he can complete just about any throw you can think of, long, short and in-between, and he's shown he can do it with touch and with accuracy. He I think needs some work with footwork and mechanics, with consistency at times, but there just isn't anything that red-flags me. I think the odds are that he's going to be a good pro quarterback.
A Great Fair Analysis 'Kegger' !!!

Great Job !

Geno man I want him drafted and working with Reid. Getting a QB and a competent coaching staff will make all the difference

Reid will go with the QB who he thinks will best suit the WC offense and who do you think that might be?

Geno, from what I heard WC offense is timing and accuracy. Geno fits the bill to a tee. If anyone has info on the west coast you can add to my respone
