Maybe it would be comforting to look at this from the point of view of quantum mechanics. I believe the chances of anything happening in some world line are 1, so on one of these world lines, we made the best possible head coaching hire.

I just can't ****ing believe that the board of curators of a major research institution is so ****ing stupid that they believe that this guy is the best possible fit for a head basketball coach.

I have to say, they don't care at all about winning. He will run a clean program and as long as there is no NCAA funny business he will be able to lose 15-18 games a season and it won't matter.

It's Alden's decision, and there would have to be extreme circumstances for the Board to question it.

What's amazing is that the University used a search firm. I mean that is truly, truly unfathomable.

A coach with multiple Final Fours is out there, waiting to be hired, and Alden finds an old dude in the D2 ranks who counters concerns about his age with a lack of meaningful experience. I mean, what could go wrong?

Given how tightly the successes and failures of Mizzou and the Chiefs seem to align, I can assume only that Dorsey is currently hard at work to make Alex Smith the highest paid player in the NFL.
