Yeah, but at this point even flying the banner might be a bad idea. We'll see. I agree things fade away... but for some reason this has become a hot topic. Quite frankly I'm shocked at how much attention both the banner and Winston's comments have received. They've both gone national. It's pretty amazing.

With all due respect Mr. Fax, I am not sure I agree. I doubt Pioli will go after the fans. If anything he would single them out and say the rest are fine. Either way, the more I think about this, the better it is for the cause.

Which is exactly why we need to get the writers to actually "check the tape". If they do, they'll see that Winston misread the fan reaction to an enormous degree.

Cheering an injury is not typical Chiefs fan behavior. As a newcomer (and likely Pioli acolyte), Winston may not yet understand that. Or (and this would be an ugly truth if it's accurate), he may not care and is simply fighting the banner people with any available ammunition he can muster.

I was expecting to see some insightful comments from him, not "If you say bad things, it says more about you." I watch ESPN to learn, not to be lectured. Maybe that was my mistake.

I watched the game on TV and I kind of cringed when I heard the cheering, but I have no way of knowing who was cheering for what and therefore have no right to judge. However, I will say that when Brady Quinn came in the stadium sounded pretty loud and when he completed his first past, that bullet to Bowe, it sounded very loud on TV. I honestly thought we were going to win that game after that and honestly it was really exciting to see a new QB to actually get excited about.

Also, if Tebow was the backup QB instead of Quinn, the media wouldn't care about the cheering at all.

We'll see. I hate to think it, but it may be that Winston is already carrying water for him. I certainly wouldn't underestimate the guy ... I'm reminded of some of the comments that Babb made regarding Pioli's personality and image consciousness.

Nevertheless, the fact of the matter is that Mr. tk13 is right about the bad press. It is ... there's no doubt about that ... regardless of what we may believe ... or would like to believe.

The question is, what can be done about it? And if the answer is, "nothing", we can only hope that this is a 24 hour story and we can soon get back to the business at hand which, to my mind, is getting rid of Pioli once and for all.
