Good post. I'm excited. This board is full of people that love to talk shit instead of football.

Can you do math?
8.0 YPA at 70% completion percentage is a lot different than 8.3 YPA at 62.4% completion percentage. Kaepernick threw the ball down the field more. Alex made 2010 Matt Cassel look like a god damn gun slinger.

It doesn't matter what they do. you can't say what they could have been here. And the team is still going to be pussy enough to never draft a first round qb. FML Posted via Mobile Device |

THAT was the type of offense we ran full scale. WHEN we needed to go spread, we did...and won...you know, against GB, Detroit, NO and all the Madden QB's you guys lust over...yet you ignore QBR, YPA, etc. Even the more "dynamic" CK ended up having the same kind of numbers in OUR offense...just a different style...same results. Now, let's look at REID'S offense. Alex loves the TE's and spreading teams out and moving the ball in the intermediate/short range. But his best throw is the seam route. The guy didn't need to throw even 1 deep ball a game to win...so why would he? 300 yard games? LOL...replace those with WINS. He was about as efficient with an offense as you can get. And when he gets Reid's WCO down (he's probably already studying it knowing him) and gets many, many, many more attempts (passing game = extension of the run game) watch for the deep routes to open up and rhythm to get better and better between he and your WR's. And we've NEVER had a Bowe. He won't be cautious/safe with him. |

I think that Reid will not want Smith to be in a pure game manager role here. I think he wants to set him loose and have him throw it a lot more.
Alex Smith will throw at least 20 TD's this year. Bank on it. 24 TD's/11 INT's and 3,400 yards is my prediction.

Alex is going to get to throw the ball 30+ times. This team is going to be the opposite of what it was the last 4 years.

LOL! Really? You mean we switched offensive philosophies mid-year to cater to a QB with a different skill set? No way! Alex loved the TE's and CK loved Crabtree. In the end, almost identical results...just different styles. CK just adds more intangibles and potential upside but still has a ways to go (brains, experience, etc.).

He hamstrings the offense. Your offense got better without him. Our offense will get better with him, but not good enough. We want our own Colin Kaepernick. Not a checkdown king.

Those are game manager stats. Real QBs throw for more than 4,000 yards. I really hope Reid didn't bring him in here because he can throw for 200 yards a game.

I'm not against picking him up, I'm against the compensation. I think that's where most people are, whether they want Geno at 1 or not.
