Guthrie on the mound. Lets get the brooms out

Bad Mojo here, but I think I'm 0-4 in gamethreads for a sweep over the last 2 years. But I need to get the first loss of the year out of the way

You mean if this game is called? It will not impact the postseason.

Unless we can get a waiver from the player's union, we'll probably end up losing a home game and have to make it up in Tampa Bay. We'll have 80 home games, and they'll get to have 82.

Wish the rules allowed the game to be picked up where it was left off, even if it has to be played in Tampa

Yeah, you couldn't squeeze six ****ing outs of that.

You knew when you started the game that it would 1) rain, and 2) only get worse. Ending it six outs shy was going to accomplish nothing.

Thanks for costing us a cheap sweep.

Judging by the Royals twitter, it sounds like we are going to try to get that waiver. There is no common off day that doesn't violate the CBA.

I worded that incorrectly.

I assume the Royals are playing in the playoffs this year.

I just got home and was looking at the boxscore. Did they really play 4 innings and then call the game? It says delayed in the 4th with the Royals ahead 1-0. If thats the case why don't they just fit one more inning in regardless of how bad the weather is. It's pretty rediculous that you'd only have a couple outs before an official game and you won't wait it out to make it official.

Fun fact: the rules DO allow that...

... in the postseason. In the playoffs, there are no postponed games, every game that is rained out is suspended. Why they don't just do that in the regular season too, I have no idea.
