As long as he's cheap....I'd have no problem with Avant being a #4 or #5 WR.
What, no mention of Westin Dressler? Tape of him I've seen reminds me of Welker. I completely realize that it is tape of the Canadian football league, but I still have hopes that we got lucky with a diamond in the rough. No one else giving this guy a chance in hell?

He played for the University of North Dakota in college. I've seen what he can do as a football player.

He was an adequate weapon for the team when they were playing Portland State and Cal-Davis. Adequate. Not brilliant. He wasn't shredding those teams by any measure. He was just okay. He's probably improved since playing in Canada now, but even then he's got no size or speed advantage that we didn't already have with McCluster. And McCluster actually turned into a decent receiving option on short-middle range slants. Dressler has about a 1% chance of even replicating what we got out of McCluster last season.

At 1% of the salary to maybe go out and pick up a #2 WR? I'm just saying if he can produce somewhere near what we had with McCluster, that would be a huge gain... no?

Guys like Dressler are fun stories that rarely pan out. A lot of guys could be amazing if they got a running start at the LOS. I doubt he will translate well to the NFL but at least the older guys have there great white hope for this camp.
