Penn State ahead of Iowa makes no sense at all. Also, how is Oklahoma that much higher than BYU?

Maybe the voters realize BYU beat OU without Sam Bradford for a large part of the game and then BYU got beat like a drum at home by FSU.

Ok, I can live with that explanation.

But there is no logical explanation for Penn State being ahead of Iowa. My God, the Hawkeyes didn't have their starting left tackle, tight end (a leading receiver), and went TO Penn State and beat them by 11 points. I mean yeah, I'm a Hawkeyes fan but that's crazy.

I agree, and I'm a PSU diehard.

We got demolished by Iowa, and it proved what I already knew, that they are overranked.

You know Iowa just slipped by the mighty Penn State while JoPa was changing his depends. Had he put on a clean pair before the game....well, whole different story.

For the most part, September polls are meaningless. They only matter in that some teams who are massively under-ranked need more to happen above them if they actually run the table. While it makes no sense for Penn State to be ranked ahead of Iowa, I suppose it really doesn't matter. Let's say theoretically that both teams run the table from here (which won't happen). I think the polls would correct themselves at the end of the season when the entire body of work is evaluated.

When does Cincinnati lose? If they go undefeated they shouldn't play in the BCS championship. Their conference is worse than the Mountain West.
