Chiefs with Faster 40 Times than Maurice Clarett.

This site lists current Chiefs, and excludes draft picks at the moment. Maybe someone else can fill in the blanks. It's also got a few leftover guys like Willis, so don't assault and batter me if the roster's not completely current.

http://www.couchscout.com/kc.htm

Clarett's average time was 4.77, according to this article. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft0...len&id=2000680

That puts him behind:

Moral to the story: You better damn well hope Maurice improves his speed or else the rest of the league will be tackling a RB that has the speed of a 35yr old TE.
In reality, Bell is the starter... Clarett is depth fodder at this point.

Here is a guy who has continually bucked the system, dragged a lot of people down with him at Ohio State, tried to drag the National Football League down with him and I almost think it's an insult to take him in the third round.

It almost says that what he did was OK. He went to the Scouting Combine and ran bad 40 times. He quit, didn't do the rest of the work at the Combine and then, here he is.

If a guy ran a 4.86 in the 40, he wouldn't be on my draft board. I'm surprised Mike Shanahan went in that direction.

When I talk to coaches around the league, one thing they insist upon is character, and Maurice Clarett lacks character.

It just doesn't sit right with me. What did Clarett do to deserve being drafted in the third round? Now he's going to be a big story in Denver and who knows how that will sit with his teammates?

Sorry, it doesn't work with me. Football is the ultimate team game. I'm not convinced Clarett is a team guy. He's shown so far in his young football career that he's more interested in himself than the team.
What you're saying is true. We as Chiefs fans, however, can't help but point and laugh at the draft choices of Denver this year. And this pick was the crown jewel

I would say it most definitely will have an effect. But that depends on how much the NFL decides to actually call it. Frankly, I think they should've done more. The small change won't make a huge difference. The Broncos will still have a decent run blocking scheme. It's just that defensive linemen won't have that in the back of their minds as much and that should make them more effective at penetration.

The rushing attack will be fine... Bell (barring injury) will start each game and rush for 1,324 yards and 14 TDs, catching 27 passes for 337 yards and 3 more TDs. The collection of runners behind him will combine for another 729 yards and 4 TDs.

Save this one, Titus.

No mention here I see of the much friendlier conditions under which the improved 40 time was run. Can't compare his agent's 40 time to the numbers from the combine.
