Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

Bench press for me. Not surprisingly, it's almost my most impressive lift.

I dread squats the most. **** those ****ers.. But I don't feel more accomplished after completing a workout than after an epic squat session.

I admit that I actually really like barbell squats.

For pushing myself, I love the row machine. I'm constantly trying to set new personal records.

For a challenge, I'm still trying to get better at wall balls.

My absolute favorite (that I've learned so far anyway) would have to be the skull crusher/close grip bench press superset. I'm very light on weight, of course, but I always feel so accomplished when I finish. A very close second is probably the leg press.

I actually drive to a gym farther away twice a week because the gym closest to me doesn't have a decline bench (with barbells).

This is my favorite....

Throw 2 x 45's and 3 x 10's on and 100 reps in as few sets as possible. Feel like a god while lifting.

I love rows to since I've a fan of working my back. I just added a seated Hammer Strength Row machine to my gym and it's like heaven.

I also used to use some heavy ass dumbells with hooks for shrugs or the hex bar and recently switched over to shrugs with a barbell above my head. Holy Shit. I was sore for 2 weeks from doing those bad boys. It just hit in a way normal shrugs couldn't.
