Point I am making is that when you live in a heavy traffic city like Houston people should be more considerate of the others around them. Heavy traffic like in this town would be some more smooth and stress free.

I have to get up at 0430 every day to make to the office by 0700.

He didn't have to flip the finger and act like a jackass but I bet he was trying to get around her and she wouldn't budge. Usually over here in Houston when I come up on someone in the fast lane that is clogging up the works they know it and pull over.

Then you have some drivers who get their rocks off knowing they are slowing down miles of traffic or hundreds if not thousands of cars behind them. It's a power trip.

Then some are just plain ****ing stupid and should be off the road.

She was probably baiting him and she knew what was going to happen because she's done this before so this time she taped it in hopes of multiple YouTube views.

She's been on Inside Edition +++ so got what she wanted, her little 15 minutes.

I think the last thing we want is people having to go into the right lanes to pass. It's about DIFFERENCE of speed more so than speed limit, and generally if everybody is following the rules then traffic on the left is travelling much faster than traffic on the right. I think almost everybody can see the logic behind this. Do we really want somebody in the left lane travelling 20 miles per hour slower than the rest of traffic? Furthermore, can you not see the danger of a car travelling at much higher speeds having to go into slower moving traffic to pass a car that shouldn't be there in the first place.

It all comes down to common sense and common decency and thinking about other people instead of yourself. These slow moving assholes who hang out in the left lane always have the same logic "Screw him, he can go around me. I have just as much right to be on this road as he does". That's the problem, people like the above. They don't recognize that they are the root of the problem and they are selfish assholes who don't think about anybody but themselves. Its like they take it as a personal insult if somebody decides to go faster than them. Unless your passing or turning left, get out of the right lane. Simple.

She was also going a lot slower than he wanted to go and had lots of room/time to pull over and let him by. Generally when I pass somebody they don't have a cell phone camera recording the event. It's safe to say that there was some previous issue before the camera went rolling and that she baiting him along and trying to get some kind of a reaction.

When I am in the fast lane even whilst passing slower traffic and see somebody gaining on me considerable I get over and let them through, then go back into the left lane if I plan on passing more traffic.

If I am going 10 mph faster than traffic on my right and somebody is gaining on me, it's probably safe to say they could be doing 10 mph faster than me. He could be 20 mph faster or more than traffic on his right. In my opinion it's a lot safer and easier for me to get over and merge into traffic than for him.

Or you can just sit there and see what happens. There are a lot of assholes and crazy people on the road. In General I think if you follow the laws of the road and the good law of thinking about other people, you will generally avoid problems like this.

The guy was a dick no doubt but people don't usually act like that just because she was going slow.

There's two sides to this pancake and you're only hearing one.

It's actually Texas law that says if you are moving slower that the traffic coming up behind you to are the one that needs to pull over.

NO MATTER WHAT SPEED they are traveling at, legal or not.

This avoids accidents and incidents like this.

It is absolutely a good theory. I constantly rotate from looking ahead and all 3 of my mirrors. I ALWAYS know what's going on around me, that way no one can sneak up in my blind spot without me knowing or if something happens where I need to make an evasive maneuver I already know where I can go.

That actually falls under both #2 and #3 of the Smith System's 5 principles of safe driving, get the big picture and keep your eyes moving.
