****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

Fla laying down for Mizzou. LOL now I've heard it all.

Fla is a national power. You know what they see when they look at us? A bug on their windshield.

To be fair, it was probably a bug before last week. Now we're more like a deer.

And remember, we damn near beat them last year in Florida last year (broken Franklin did us in with a bad pick in the waning minutes IIRC).

They don't have to run the table. They can be a 3-loss team (losing to Miami, LSU, Florida State) and still be in the SEC Championship game.

True. If they find themselves down 14-3 in 43 degree weather, do you think their players are going to believe they are going to win the SEC?

This shit happens all the time. College kids can be demoralized...especially prima donnas. Now, I don't know if Florida has a bunch of those on their team...but I'd like to hit them in the mouth early and find out.

Look at Kentucky last year in the NIT. Do you really think they gave a shit about Robert Morris? **** no. They half-assed the game, got back on the bus, and headed home happy to be gone.

B/C they like to screw around w/ "lesser" opponents (or at least did last year), see Bowling Green and Louisville in addition to our game. Plus their style of play lends to closer games at times if their offense isn't quite clicking.

They are taking us seriously this week, you can bet your bottom dollar on that. What I was getting at is the notion that they are going to pack it in b/c they're facing big and bad Mizzou and have lost a couple games is ridiculous.

Fla isn't playing us in the NIT. An apt comparison for football would be if we were playing them in the Liberty Bowl on the heels of an underwhelming season for them. That does happen all the time. That is after the season's over and championships have been decided. In this case the SEC and BCS is still out there for them.

I'm not saying they think Mizzou is some monster. I'm saying that it's hard for a bunch of kids who expected to be starring in Hollywood Blockbusters to bring that same level of enthusiasm to dinner theater at a greasy spoon in Peoria.

This game was supposed to be a tiny bump in the road en route to Atlanta. If they suddenly find themselves behind on a cold and windy day in Columbia...with two losses on their record already...and games against Georgia, South Carolina, Florida State, and potentially Alabama still to come...they may start moping. I've seen plenty of college football seasons unravel. It happens...and I'd like to put them to the test.

I'll tell you the difference and it's almost as easy to see it here in the conversations between MU and Gator fans.

DaKC Man is talking his team up like they are confident they can come in here and take it to us. We MU fans are talking about "what ifs" (save for duncan idaho and Saul Good)

In reality MU needs to do to FL what they did to GA and that is smack them quick, smack them hard and get them off their game. Make them lose their confidence the same way Georgia did for 3 quarters.

And the crowd has to act like a frenzied SEC crowd, not like the gallery at The Masters.

I know exactly what you're trying to say.

You've built a theory that's not based in reality and offered an apples to oranges comparison to support it. I already explained why I disagree in like 5 different posts in this thread and have failed to persuade you. That's fine we can agree to disagree on that point.

It's the same source, so either their methodology behind the conclusions they drew make them a reliable source of information, or it doesn't...and I don't think the physics behind the effects of cold and/or moisture on leather has changed since the Bush administration.
