When did the EMAW thing come about? My pops graduated from K-State and said that wasn't a thing when he was there in the early 70's. He also said they were barely hanging on to having a football program because they were so horrible.

'Cats looked good enough to win on defense; offense pretty good, special teams hurt us bad. Can't miss those at home.

Lockett makes that first catch 9 out of 10 times.

In the 50's. Then it kind of went away as purple pride came about.

Thank goEMAW for resurrecting it.

EMAW died for a bit in the 70s due to radical feminism. It has had a rebirth in the past ten years or so.

My mom graduated from KSU in the 70s and loves EMAW (I grew up a very blessed child).

Auburn decided that neither Lockett nor the QB run game was going to beat them. Anytime we tried to get it to Lockett down the field, there were two guys there waiting. They kept their DEnds from flying up the field and were content to contain Jake. No other big playmakers on offense, especially at RB. Decent players, but not guys that run off a 40 yarder.

Good game kstaters. I'd have like for you to have stole that one from the SEC but at least you came to play and shut up every analyst from everywhere but Manhattan.

I know you guys are worried about it but you are going to kick the **** out of KU.

That was a kickass CFB Atmosphere last night. It was loud and raucous from start to finish. Kudos to the students - they were LIGHTS OUT!

The game was fun, but gawdman, we pissed away every ****ing opportunity to take the lead. So frustrating. Anyway, like I said, lots of fun with Family. Got to take some positives from this and get better at executing on O, and finding a kicker with some balls.

EMAW!

I concur ChiTown.
'twas quite enjoyable yesterday right up to the point when Lockett tried for a no-handed catch and Cantele couldn't have hit water had he fallen from a boat. Even after that, the way the defense was playing (and Auburn was dropping passes like it was going out of style) I thought that the Cats were going to somehow pull it out.
I'm still a grumpy sonofabitch this morning feeling like we gave one away.

You're not the only one, I'm felt the same thing when I got home from Manhattan, but after just thinking about it, if we didn't make those mistakes, K-State would be winning this game.

I'll say this though. That defense showed flashes of the Lynch Mob, yesterday. K-State is building defenses like we had in the late 90s - early 2000s. That is evident. A lot of young talent on that side of the field.

I believe K-State will be solid this year, but I think next 2 years (outside of missing Waters, some O-line, and Lockett, which is discussion for another day) will be even better.

Seriously, if you had told me that the Cats would hold Auburn to 20 points and under 200 rushing yards I would have told you we would win that game. The fact that we didn't win while accomplishing those feats is embarrassing.

I commented to that affect in one of the two threads during the game last night. The secondary is still lacking quite a bit (if it wasn't for Auburn having several miscues of their own in the passing game we would have ended up getting blown out). But over all what I witnessed from the D last night gave me hope for the future on that side of the ball.

I'll believe that statement about the defense when they do it consistently against opponents that are much more familiar with the Cats. OU/BU/OsU

Yep.

I fully expect OU, Baylor, and OSU to rape the deep middle like they do every year their QB is decent.

Exactly. We cannot cover well at all. Snydz forced an inaccurate QB to be accurate. And he was when he had to be. We stuffed the run and they struggled.

Leaving points on the field killed it.

And now a missed extra point. Cantelle is fried. He doesn't need to see the field again ever.
