Such a cool concept that there's just a massive group of walkers shuffling around. Kind of reminds me of the "shooting line" and "ocean floor" scenes from World War Z.

Makes you wonder what's going to happen in back-to-back-to-back episodes.

I was wondering that at the end, thinking back over the season and the series. It's like they've been slowly de-humanizing him. But that could just be him cracking up after the end of the world.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say Dale was the much bigger death and loss to the show. Shane had basically turned into a cliche by the end and I don't think they could continue to stretch out the Shane versus Rick thing indefinitely. I think in the end this is a great opportunity for the show's crew to get some of the secondary characters back into the picture more prominantly, particularly Daryl. But Dale was like the conscience of the group, basically the last thread holding them to the world that was, and I don't see how they replace that. Maybe they shouldn't. Maybe Rick killing Shane is the last straw, the thing that finally turns him into who he needs to be (if his humanity is really a weakness).

Next week looks like chaos. Somehow they have to top the last two weeks. I'm guessing we might even have a drastically altered cast going into season 3, and not just be down by 2.

It amazes me that Shane was not able to stage a better scenario. He would have been better off letting the kid go and then letting Daryl track him down and kill him. He and Rick could have still faced off in the woods. Lori is partially to blame for Shane going over the edge with her manipulative buill shit and her ear filled apology. She knew what she was doing, just trying to make sure she had a seat at the right hand of the alpha male

After the zombie attack, we should brace ourselves for a hostage situation with the hostile group outside of town. The kid said that they were a rough and tough group.

Rick will probably be in the kid's shoes when they find out he killed their friends. Yay.

I don't think Lori had any agenda. I think she was just trying to make things right. She should have known better with Shane.

It almost played like he was baiting Rick into killing him. It was an odd scene. He had every opportunity to pull the trigger and didn't.

We need a +/- on when T-Dog is going to die. I'm thinking soon, very soon.

They always give people they're about to kill off a few more lines to make them validated.

In that link KCC posted, Berenthal said as much when asked about that scene, just to see if Rick could really be the guy to protect the woman he (Shane) loved.

I'm thinking Sophia's mom is toast.

Feel bad that I don't actually know her name, and think of her as Sophia's mom.

Yeah, I think Shane pulled a suicide-by-cop. I don't think he could come to grips with who he had become, but he also couldn't come to kill himself, either.
