I picked up a pair of Reebox Realflex last night. The girl at the store said they're great for Crossfit, Insanity or P90x.
Got through the fit test last night and felt like I was going to puke. That was just the fit test. ****. |

Any joggers in here? I've been jogging a 3.24 mile route for the past two or three weeks. However, I haven't been able to do it the last couple of days. I jogged at least half of it today, and my right calf started cramping up a little during my last .2 mile stretch. Dehydration maybe? I know it's not a lack of potassium. One staple in this house is bananas. I typically have one per day.

Also, did you know that, in order to keep from getting dehydrated, a person should drink half of their weight in ounces of water? I was at 228 last time I weighed, so that means I should be drinking 114 ounces of water per day.

When I get calf cramps, it's because I'm not getting enough salt.

The problem with this is that it doesn't take into account the water that comes in through food. We get most of the "eight cups a day" that is needed through food. Slamming back the water unnecessarily just will make you pee out the electrolytes (sodium, potassium, etc) that you need.

Hmmm. Things I'm finding seem to be a little less than half. One example said a 200 lb person should drink 70 oz per day. A few others say that if your diet is high in protein, then you should increase that. I currently eat some type of protein with every meal and snack. Most of what I'm finding also says that you need to have plenty if you exercise. I'm also exercising much more. I also weigh over 200 lbs. So, for me anyway, I'd say 100-120 oz of water is good.
