Okay there used to be this old board...

I think it was around 1999 or 2000 that I first started hanging around this old chiefs board. It had a black background and like yellow or red font colors. I loved reading stuff on that board but then I got out of following it closely for a while. When I came back it was gone. I looked and looked but I didn't find it anywhere. However, I seem to remember the user names Hydrae and Braincase being on there. Do you guys remember? Does anyone here know what I am talking about or have I totally lost my mind?

You have got to be talking about the old Rivals.com boards. They went strictly amatuer (high school and college) football.

BC and I both hung out on the Wild Wild West board a lot. That was a fun place. Not the family we have here since there were fans from all AFCW teams there but a knowledgable bunch for the most part.

When Rivals went down, I bumped around a few sites before finding this place. The rest is the proverbial history.

Rivals thats sound familiar. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I went to wild bills and then found the planet and got hooked as well. It just took me a long time to get back into the whole thing.

Sounds a little bit like the Chiefs War Room board too.

I got in on the last few months of Rivals. Little did I know at the time it fell what a douchebag of a person I followed to their 'bestest' board of alltime was. Thank goodness I found this place though.

Whew, it was a rough go for awhile there. But, I managed and found my own little slice of heaven on the internet.

Rivals was fun, and I spent a lot of time on that board. Got to agree with Chris, certain strong-arm types start off nice enough, next thing you know you're coming to the conclusion that the aforementioned has some serious personality issues... that lead to being banned from all NFL venues for life.

Sounds like the Home of the Chiefs Board (HOTCB). Was that Rivals?

Actually, there were a lot of internal political/business issues that killed it ultimately. Unfortunately, it was also the introduction for many of us to "he who shall not be named from Pa". I believe his presence was a mitigating factor in the reorg that happened.

I had forgotten Naptown was there. Bad Guy is a veteran too if I remember correctly (as NFLScoopFrank or something like that).

BTW, KCChiefsMan was also a poster there. He and I actually tried to work with a small core to get a new board running but since we were not interested in spamming other boards to gain posters like the unnamed on it went nowhere. But that is ok, this place is much more fun and way less work for me.
