It certainly isn't swaying me in whatever direction they want, in fact quite the opposite. That being said, i'm not going to let it **** up my lifelong love of football. Much like the cops they are protesting, most football players are good people, and arent in on shitting on the symbolic tradition we have before football games. On top of that, these dudes don't have to be role models, or even good people as far as i'm concerned. They are entertainers. The entertainment portion is all I care about.
Well said.

In general wearing clothing depicting or colored like the flag has typically been considered a sign of patriotism which would be the exact opposite of disrespect. Again intent is always important.

Kneeling for the anthem has been deemed offensive by our society in general.

There are real ways to measure whats acceptable and what isn't.
Yep every tax season uncle sam on street corners trying to lure customers into a tax preparing business seems to spur lots of ire from the public.

Wearing jorts and a american flag muscle shirt with a beer in one hand and a lit cherry bomb in the other on the fourth of July really sets off folk.

What does set off normal people is disrespect and the majority of folks according to polls feel its disrespectful right or wrong.

Frankly as far as the players are concerned all I can say is this -

Know your audience.

Know that the majority of football fans are against this.

Fine if as a player you think most football fans are redneck hillbilly racist assholes (which isn't true) but these are the people who make it possible for you to get paid.

And if as a player you think the fans are a majority redneck hillbilly racist assholes but you are fine cashing your game check courtesy of those same people then that says more about you than them if you are so concerned with principles and whats right and wrong etc...

Thing is I'm sure most of the players don't think of the fans that way so again, know your audience.

But yeah... He thought his own fans mocking him was hilarious and heart-warming.
So Peters can't handle fan criticism after giving up a touchdown and sitting on his rump during the national anthem after the LV shooting?

Lol, Peters could never handle Philly fans

Yep I can remember when Bob Costas would keep talking about the game while you could clearly hear the National Anthem in the background. I thought it was a dick move on his part but I didnt mind when they cut for station break during the anthem just before the game. Gave me time to piss grab another beer and settle back into the barcalounger in front the idiot box for the game.

Here is a solution...

Let the players do what they want and at the end of the year the % of viewership lost is the % they will take out of your paycheck the next year. Penalize all for the actions of a few, eventually after they get the hell beat out of them a few times they will change

Loss of revenue must be shared, I agree.

You are probably right, they need to make an example out of a big name some how. We all know if Kap did not suck he would be playing today regardless of his actions. They weighed risk vs reward... Is he better than alot of backups? Probably, Is he worth the baggage ? Obviously not

Exactly. What have they accomplished so far other than multiracial Kaepernick being out of football and traveling the award circuit?
