I think I have a bigger issue with all the networks and talking heads going all ERMAGEHRD THERR ON THERRR KNEERRRSS than the act itself. Personally, I feel that if you're going to protest police in this country, the anthem before your game isn't the best time or place to do it, but that's the beauty of this country. Just don't be mad when somepeople don't agree with you, or you get mocked because of it. It's your right to kneel, and it's our right to call you out if we feel like it. That's the way this stuff works around here.

And honestly, I just feel a little more removed from my old NFL fandom each passing year even without all this nonsense. I'll still watch, I'll still root, but the hardcore emotion for it just isn't to be found any more.

I would like to know what these guys who are kneeling did this off season to help address the issues they are kneeling about.

I'm pretty sure I know what most of them did.

The funny part is that if Trump didn't destroy his football league back in the 80's he might still be an owner and able to fire anyone who kneeled in his league.

I think it is more about the fact that Trump convinced the other USFL owners to take the NFL to court, they won, but the jury only awarded the USFL ONE DOLLAR in damages because "Donald Trump doesn't need any more money".

He is still bitter and banging porn stars didn't ease his pain.
So it's all Trumps fault?

I'm torn. On the one hand it's ridiculous for Peters to kneel when he obviously had zero salient thoughts on the matter and was just being a malcontent for no reason because he's kind of an idiot.

On the other hand red faced hillbillies getting all huffy because their grandpappy was in a war and how dare they disrespect the flag even though I'm wearing flag jorts is way more ridiculous than anything Peters did.

It's a conundrum

Peters had an incident vs the Bears in his rookie year, he was beat a couple times by their no name WR's and he was acting out and they benched him near the end of the game.

We don't know what he was doing in practice, I think they regretted the pick the moment it was clear he wasn't going to stop being a PITA.

I can list about 10 issues that are way more important to why their stock prices are hurting that make way more sense than this issue.

I'll start with their stupid subjective rules that no one understands.

Because it happens at every athletic event pretty much. Even the Judo and Jiu-Jitsu tournaments do it and everyone even the fans and people from other countries pay respect.
Yeah and it's stupid. It's not some international event. What does the anthem have anything to do with it?

Well history will tell you this is incorrect. If at anytime prior to all of this people had gotten upset about flag jorts then you would have a point, but since flag clothing has rarely ever caused any type of screams of disrespect it would seem that as a society it is not found to be offensive. In general wearing clothing depicting or colored like the flag has typically been considered a sign of patriotism which would be the exact opposite of disrespect. Again intent is always important.

Kneeling for the anthem has been deemed offensive by our society in general.

There are real ways to measure whats acceptable and what isn't.

This is where I'm at. Don't really give a crap if they kneel or not. The media needs to stop drawing attention to it. They don't give two shits about that song unless it's the Superbowl.
