Dontari Poe should just be called "Beast Mode"

I can't recall a DT with his skill set. There are only so many people in the world who weigh 340 lbs, and I dare say out of those select few (ok, in 'murica there are lots of them) he is without a doubt the fastest. Its not that he just disrupts the backfield; this guy plays sideline to sideline and can chase a runner down from behind. And he plays all three downs. He played 100% of the defensive snaps in the Dallas game. For a guy that size, that is unheard of. Any other person that size would of keeled over with a heart attack.

What is really scary about this guy is that everyone says it takes at least three years for a defensive lineman to learn his position in the NFL. This guy should have had a longer learning curve because by all accounts he didn't have any coaching in college to speak of. Give the kid a couple of years and he may well be one of the all time greats. I know it is early to say that, but I watch the guy and my jaw just drops at what he can do.

To put it in perspective, Haloti Ngata went to his first pro bowl in his fourth year when he recorded 36 tackles (26 unassisted) and 1.5 sacks. In two games in his second year, Poe went total Beast Mode and has recorded 10 tackles (9 unassisted) and 3.5 sacks.

The guy is inhuman--he is Beast Mode.

Anyone think we are calling him a "bust" or "picked too high" if he's in Romeo's 2 gap scheme still?

Poe reminds me of a rampaging bear. He moves like a bear, only on two paws.

As a Bronco fan, I honestly thought Poe was going to be a bust when KC picked him and last year he did nothing to help change my opinion. This year.... Wow! Guy has definitely picked things up and has quickly learned what works and was doesn't work in the NFL. I would keep him out of the offensive scheme though as in today's NFL if he got the ball, the entire defense would immediately go for his legs. I wouldn't want to risk a great career for a couple of goal line TD's imo.

Best NG in the NFL? Not sure but he is shaping up to be one of the best for years to come if he keeps this pace up. I love watching players like Poe and can appreciate the talent he has. Hoping he has a couple of bad games this year though;-D

That shirt is straight up crazy, i hope he's feeling it tomorrow.

Its kinda weird, he doesnt look like a 340 pounder there besides the bear paw on the kids shoulder... amazingly well built to carry his weight.

Honestly, no.

I don't think we'd be seeing the player we're watching now but I don't think people would be calling him a bust.

Most of Poe's mass is in his ass and thighs. He's got the perfect DT build.
