Dream scenario... Murray crushes the galaxy in preseason, Daniel is let go.

Yes Daniel is a smart and experienced vet, yes dumping him is kind of a gamble... but no one thinking clearly has ANY reason to believe that he is the future.

So why waste time, why hold someone back who may potentially be the future? it doesnt make any sense to do so... they're turning the roster over at a record pace right now, dont stop at QB.

I agree...and smith has never really been that much better than avg. And this will be his 10th season. We all already know his ceiling and its just simply not good enough. Not getting a WR a TD all season breaking an ancient old record nobody wishes to boast about, only further proves my point.

Its time to move away from alex smith.

Short of a major injury to Smith, I harbor no delusions of Murray grabbing the reins and whipping ass this year... just want to see him own the #2 spot so he can start getting those more substantive reps in practice instead of Daniel.

One way or the other, Daniel is a dead man walking... get him outta there so this new hotshot can grow, dammit.

Nobody wants Cassel back, unless he's on his back when we **** his shit up when we play BUF..IF he's even the starter then.

Smith can not take us to the promise land. The guy doesn't throw a good deep ball and he's just too god damn conservative all the time. It's great he doesn't turn the ball over a whole lot..and he can escape sacks and turn it into extra yardage w/ his legs at times. That's really about all he can do though.

I concur. Murray is the future. Regardless of what they are paying Daniel, Murray needs to move up to #2 and start getting reps.
