Gordon looks like Charles...

I was watching some clips of him..his body language. Would anyone be pissed if KC drafted him @ #18? I have a feeling he is pretty high up Dorsey's board..

we could use a legit power back.

A Legarette Blount type for when we need to slam in up in there for a couple of yards.

round 3-5 probably

the only type of backs that deserve round one is a adrian peterson/mccoy level talent.. hell charles level too. Other wise.. you certainly can wait till 2nd and on.

You don't need a great running game.. just a respectable running game so teams cant stack the box.

I don't agree. Does Baltimore make the Super Bowl without ray rice? Seattle without Marshawn? What does big Ben look like without leveon bell? How much different does Eli Manning look without a true running game?

You can't win on a running game alone. But if you don't have an elite qb, it's not a bad idea to build around an elite defense and a stud rb. The problem is moreso that too many elite rbs are paired with awful qbs. Demarco Murray is a classic example of what happens when you match an excellent rb with a good qb. Sure, you can find those guys in later rounds, but there is most definitely a difference between an elite rb and a solid starter.

The only reason I mentioned it is he is probably pretty high up on the draft board and Dorsey seems to practice what he preaches. Everyone...including myself thought Hali was gone this year and why they drafted Ford.

If Charles was lost for the season...how would this impact the offense?
We've already seen the offense without Charles, and Davis filled in a lot better then most other backups we have at any other position. I love Charles, but we already have a guy that would be a starting RB for a lot of teams in Davis. On top of that, even if you did want a 3rd guy, you can find him later in the draft.

I'm not opposed to drafting a RB in the first round, but not this year. RB is one of those positions you don't need to develop a couple years before they hit their stride like other skill positions. They are practically plug and play as rookies. Charles has a couple good years left in the tank, when he's close to done THEN draft his replacement. Drafting one now would be a waste. Davis is a more than suitable backup for the near future.
