Patrick Mahomes can soften even the hardest of hearts...

I was listening to Keitzman on the way home from the doc (I live 3 hours from KC, it's all I can get, so lay off me!) and caller after caller is wanting to belly ache about the defense.

He finally hung up on one guy and said "look, would you rather have the #1 defense or Patrick Mahomes?"

EVEN Kevin Keitzman gets it.

So many fans expect them to field a perfect team every year.

Can the D be better? **** yeah. Do they have to be perfect? Ha.

They have the #1 O and ST DVOA. The D is dead ass last. Get that to 15 and you're the best team in football.

Exactly.

Honestly from listening to the callers, I got the impression that most of them would rather have Alex Smith and the #1 defense than Mahomes. It's like PMSD - Post Marty Stress Disorder. All of these points are just confusing, it would be easier if games were 17-13.

Don't need a #1 defense. Just need one that's not going to cost us some games, like this current cluster****.

Yeah, I listened to the postgame stuff on 810 as we were leaving Arrowhead Sunday. Some people, man I just.....dunno.

One guy was so pissed about Toub and his kickoffs.

I think it's weird that people actually call in to these shows.

100% accurate...

Mahomes will decide the fan base. Those who want post season success vs those who want 9-7 and feel good stories.

For some people, bitching is their #1 favorite thing to do with sports.

Even when they're undefeated and breaking records. Because winning isn't important to them, being right is important to them.

Because they're losers.
