Meaning every single one of these stars grew up idolizing and wanting to be Michael Jordan...and they played basketball every freaking free second of the day...

People try and tell me 'the league isn't as talented anymore' which is total bullshit. The talent in the NBA right now is the best it has ever been and it is FAR BETTER than the talent during the Jordan era.

People confuse talent and fundamentals. Yes, back in the Jordan era all of those players were fundamentally sound team players. The game has changed.

I have news for you...LeBron is the most talented basketball player to ever lace up a pair of shoes and this is coming from a HUGE Michael Jordan mark.

The Kobe fans, who seem to be the ones that hate LeBron the most, need to get over it. Kobe never was and never could have been what LeBron has been. He just didn't have the talent. That's not a bash, that's just a truth.
MVP's are a pretty poor way to evaluate players. Jordan only had 5, so you're telling me he was only the best player in the league for 5 seasons? Steve Nash also had 2. So you're telling me Steve Nash was actually the best player in the league for 2 seasons? Of course not he just filled up a stat sheet., Also consider who was winning MVP's when Jordan first came into the league. I believe Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were winning them. Who was winning them when LBJ got into the league? Kevin Garnett? Allen Iverson? Steve Nash? Come on.

Not to mention that he spent several years at UNC.

Now, the LeBron, Jordan comparison. I refuse to get into it. There are no winners, and honestly, you cant even compare their careers until LeBron is done and gone, but to be honest, if he hadn't taken 93, and 94 off to play baseball, there would of been no comparisons. He probably then would of ended up passing Kareem as the all time leading scorer, and had a chance to help the bulls to win 8 straight titles.

Jordan as a competitor, is the best basketball player I have ever seen. I was born in '79. Lebron has more natural ability than anyone I have ever seen. He is as complete a player from size, skill, and athleticism, as I can remember, and when all is said and done, he will be on the Mt Rushmore of the NBA, and will go down as one of the top 5 players in NBA history.
This. LeBron is an exceptional player. He will probably end up as #2 in history. Even if he has more talent than Jordan, I don't think anyone will ever parallel playoff Jordan.

and that's my one point with LeBron

like everyone else since MJ (and probably before)...there is an unknown when he has the ball and the game is on the line. I just don't know. He may make it, he may miss it. He's human.

MJ?

When MJ had the ball in the 90s and an important game was on the line (IE playoffs) and he had the ball...EVERYONE knew the outcome. He knew he was going to make it, his teammates knew he was going to make it, his opponents knew he was going to make it, and the fans (home and away) knew he was going to make it.

I doubt we'll ever see something like that again.

Sure I did. I just pointed out how stupid it is to say a player is better based on the number of MVP's he has won.

why don't you just come out and say it

I want you to tell me right now Kobe is ahead of LeBron in terms of where they belong on the NBA best players ever list as of right now.

Just say it.

I need a good laugh.

That would have padded his overall stats to sick measures, but I don't know if he wins any more titles unless he was drafted or traded to pretty good team. Those Boston, LA, Detroit teams were pretty damn good. They were like this years Spurs, but only with more talented guys and they were still in their primes.

He is at the moment and please don't call me a Kobe fan. I'm pretty sure I have plenty of neg reps from Big Daddy for my Kobe bashing when he tried to compare him to Jordan. Given the last 30 years Michael, Magic and Larry are still the top 3. So I wouldn't even put Kobe in that field. I won't comment on the stuff before that because I'm not that old. I'll leave that to Milkman.

LeBron won't be nearly as good at 34. Wait and see.
