Well it'd be much more simple if one of you "simple" fuchs provide the formula.

Hey, I get it, you could just start with the target number and work your way backwards to get to a starting point , using any calculations you want to throw in there until you get back to step one where you need to figure the last step to get to your starting point. That is simple.

Here's a start:
((80+1) x 250 -250)/2 = 10000 10000 x your first three digits = xxx0000 (555-0000 for example) The rest is you just putting in the last four digits twice which is then divided by 2. That should give you an idea of how the formula works. |

1. x 2. 80x 3. 80x+1 4. 20,000x + 250 5. 20,000x + 250 + y 6. 20,000x + 250 + 2y 7. 20,000x + 2y 8. 10,000x + y Multiplying x by 10,000 shifts the first three digits over four decimal places, then y fills the gap. |
