Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

rivers from three years ago maybe you are right. Palmer 5 years ago before he got hurt against the steelers, you are right. Hes better than Newton. Newton is a head case who is going the way of vince young. And romo? Seriously? Proof right there that stats dont always tell the story.

Andy Dalton did in his first two years in the NFL, at a younger age, with a much worse team than it took Alex Smith to do in 8 seasons.

so yes, he is a poor man's Dalton

and not to mention he is better than Alex Smith in any statistical category. So yeah lol

How many QB's have been better than Alex Smith in the last 2 years?

The guy is a quality QB who has proven he can get it done in the playoffs.

He was by far the best option and he's going to throw the ball a lot more here.

again, anyone who holds onto alexs first 6 seasons as their reasoning for maintaining that alex smith sucks, really deserves no response. But you do provide some good giggle.

A great running game is 1000 yards, 3.9 ypc and 6 TD?

And you're talking about his rookie year in the NFL.....with his #1 WR being a rookie as well.

Go **** yourself, moron.

the 49ers are better than the Bengals in every facet except WR1. That is it. You are just being a fool if you think other wise.

49ers have a better o-line, d-line, LBers, secondary and RBs. And it is not even close

It's 6 in one hand, half dozen in the other.

Dalton and Smith really are the same animal. Smith's actually more mobile.

From a skills perspective, someone tell me what Dalton has that Smith doesn't. No, his arm isn't any better so don't even try that tripe. Dalton has the same slightly below average arm that Smith has. Blah blah 'look at the stats' blah, tell me what Dalton can actually do that Smith can't. He's not a more accurate passer, he's not a better decision-maker, he doesn't have a stronger arm and he's less mobile.

Dalton's the AJ Green ball delivery system and little else. Yeah, it's completely fair to compare Smith to Dalton.

Not really. All those QBs have at least 300% more wins than Alex Smith

It's one thing to have a losing record, it's quite another to be 2-27-1.

Except that what we know about Andy Dalton is based on 2 years in this league. Will he get better? We don't know. Alex Smith is nearing 30 and has had 8 years in this league. Will he get better? Not ****ing likely.
