Those of us who never wished Cassel injury, suffering, or death could move with their day not insulted or otherwise bothered by the downpour of legitimate criticism being leveled at those who acted inappropriately. We can also be honest enough to know that the treatment of Cassel up until his injury could cause honest and decent people to not give ALL Chiefs fans the benefit of the doubt.

Those of us who did not do this can get their knickers out of a twist and stop taking personally. They aren't talking about me when they are talking about ignorant, ruthless, uncivil, rude, pathetic people in Chiefs gear rooting for someone's injury. Those of us who do not act like that need not carry the burden of those who do.

The irony has not been lost on me. Nor has the steelery.

Right now, the conversation should be about improving the team (however that might be accomplished) ... not about how Chiefs fans are the evolutionary equivalent of a vaginal bacterium.

Yet here we are defending ourselves against ourselves.

Pioli is a tactical genius.

This is true, as long as the fans who believe this make up the majority. Not sure if that's the case or not. Or... you're right, they could just think this will change once Pioli's plan works and keep charging ahead.

I've heard callers on both sports talk radio stations call in an say they cheered and aren't sorry for it. I don't agree with their actions but I give them kudos for not pretending they didn't do what many people obviously did.

Fans need to admit that a good percentage of people in the stadium acted inappropriately. If it wasn't you then don't be offended. But don't try to argue that it didn't happen because clearly something did happen to the point that both teams noticed and a few players from both teams spoke out against it.

Hard to defeat a psychotic when you don't think like one. Pisoli is obviously good at it to make it to this level.

Given how vociferous the media has been in attacking Pioli and Cassel, I believe this is starting to represent the mainstream, otherwise guys like Teicher and Mellinger risk alienating their readership, which is most certainly not the CP crowd.

Where do Ravens players say anything? All I have seen is Ngata comment on a tweet about him hurting Cassel. That response by Ngata had nothing to do with the injury to Matt and the booing. In fact, I am pretty sure that happened before the game.

Did anyone here Collin Cowherd(spelling*) today. He had Randy Covitz on today and Covitz defended the fans saying it was more about getting a change than it was about Matt himself being hurt.

Sam Mellinger is going to be on ESPN2 at 1:30 to discuss this.

Judging by his twitter comments, he seems to think this is overblown, but he also thinks some people were definitely cheering that Cassel got hurt. So if a KC columnist puts that out there, you can probably forget any hope of apologies or retractions.

EDIT: ESPN2, not ESPN.

This sounds like a paranoid schizophrenic or at the least delusional thinking. Scott Pioli did not orchestrate a cascading of negative emotions directed towards Chiefs fans regarding cheering Cassel's injury anymore than he planted people to too cheer so that he'd have something to divert attention from his crappy job or illustrate how pathetic the fan base is.

Fans of the team created this story. Fans pretending it didn't happen and that there is some mass conspiracy are simply making matters worse.

The best way to defeat a narcissist is to keep the pressure on, Mr. stonedstooge. Consistently and continually. They simply cannot stand the rejection and criticism. Eventually, they spontaneously pop like an unexpected elevator fart.

Players TRY to hurt each other. Players and Coaches are suspended RIGHT NOW for paying to hurt people. Ray Lewis played at Arrowhead yesterday and he's helped KILL people.

So sorry if I'm not feeling the pain of Eric The Snow Fence Winston.
