Reza Aslan: Trump Supporters Must be “Eradicated” From Society

Published 1 hour ago on Aug 5, 2019

Fired CNN host and so-called “scholar of religions” Reza Aslan endorsed the “eradication” of Trump supporters in a Sunday tweet, holding them to be synonymous with white nationalists.

The UC-Riverside professor’s chilling remarks are possibly the most vengeful and hateful response on the left to Saturday’s El Paso massacre, carried out by a purported white nationalist who wanted to kill Hispanics.

Aslan went on to repeat his threat to White House policy advisor Kellyanne Conway, expressly singling her out as the “evil” that needed to be eradicated.

Seeing as Kellyanne Conway isn’t even slightly comparable to a hate-fueled white nationalist, it seems apparent that Aslan’s explicit threat applies broadly to any and all Trump supporters.

Observers concerned with Aslan’s repeated violent and quasi-genocidal rhetoric have reported his latest round of death threats to Twitter’s Safety team. But it’s unlikely the deranged leftist will face any consequences, leaving him free to escalate in his repeated pattern of dehumanization and violent threats towards Trump supporters and American patriots.

Placing it in an unrelated hypothetical situation might serve to highlight your errors. Suppose we had a mechanism to determine the intelligence of every member of society. And suppose 7 of the 10 least intelligent, rock bottom individuals happened to be black. Even if you had this information, asking people 'what is it about black people that saddles them with such a propensity for stupidity' would still be uninformed a distressingly racist.

I know your side realizes this because it's a distillation of their advocacy for Muslims in light of burgeoning Islamic violence. 'Because some people did something, we all have to lose. . . . '
The difference there is a few metrics muddies it though. More instances. More participants. More direct and explicit connection to ideology.
Most importantly for the broader populations though, is that the general public mostly doesn't extend the disparagement to the entirety of Islam. The bulk of criticism focuses on the confrontational apocalyptic tenets of the ideology itself. And on the other side is the distressing level of sympathy, acceptance and deflection mainstream Muslims exhibit for Jihadists.
No one applauds mass violence. No one excuses with 'that's what you get when you don't take out politics seriously.' It's an aberrant, rare, individual response to perceived emotional provocations, that general society does and should denounce. But the left, whether genuinely or for political gain, refuse to accept the denunciation of mass violence from the right. They pretend it's a ruse to covertly disseminate their evil maniacal grand plan, . . . and you call us the conspiracists.
Is there an argument in here somewhere?

By the way, when I say right wing domestic terrorism, I'm not talking about googling their name and looking at whether they registered as Republicans. This is actually looking at the ideology that motivated the attacks.

Revelling in ignorance may be personally exhilarating, but it does nothing for your credibility.

But don't worry, there are plenty of other people out there with brains. The train of thought isn't convoluted and they understand fine. And if you're nice, maybe one of them will be charitable enough to hold your hand through it.

Why does it matter what ideology motivated their attacks if they're fringe nutballs who everyone on both sides condemns and when the vast majority who subscribe to that ideology aren't fringe nutballs?

Contrast that with less lethal but maybe more dangerous attacks against our society like calls to infringe the 1st amendment (ban hate speech), calls to infringe the 2nd amendment (impose unprecedented gun restrictions), an ideology of boycotts and social harassment, inciteful speech and messaging not only against political opponents but also their normal supporters, all of which get much mainstream support within one of our political factions. It's the party of nutballs, I guess.

Talk like a normal person and perhaps I will be able to understand the arguments you're making. Are you capable of this or are you just interested in pointless displays of mental masturbation? Be concise and get to your points.

Voicing your condemnation is meaningless if you continue to repeat the same racist rhetoric that has inspired previous terrorist attacks.

I mean he is stating that anyone who supports Trumps needs to be killed.
