Dink and dunk your way to a 71% completion rate, you'll have a good YPA.

Prety useless metric.

Doesn't sound like you understand what yards per attempt is.

“To put it most simply, passing yards per attempt is the single most important indicator of success in all of football. The short version is this:
* Teams that win the passing YPA battle almost always win the game.
* Teams that lose the passing YPA battle almost always lose the game.
* The winningest teams in history are typically the teams with the best passing YPA average.
* The winningest quarterbacks in history are typically the quarterbacks with the best passing YPA average.”

http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2...s-per-attempt/

Doesn't really matter what the passes were to get that YPA

Dink and dunk offenses aren't the worst.

Big Ben had a great year this last year in that kind of offense.

Career backup Trent Green? Or is it Pro Bowler Trent Green your talking about?

Maybe you mean the career backup who had 6 seasons where he decimated Alex Smiths best seasons in production? You mean Trent Green who doubled up your boys best season in TD's 4 times, and 7 seasons where equaled/bested him overall? We are talking best seasons your guy had here btw, if I talk about his other 6 seasons it wouldn't be worth my time to type.

Or is it Trent Green who got benched for no names 4 times? Oh wait, nvm, that was your guy. Silly me.

What where we talking about again?

The Patriots last year were the most dink and dunk offense in the league, especially after Gronk went down, and they were the #1 offense.

The Pats have the best Qb in NFL history at the controls, lets not get carried away.

Most offenses are dink and dunk, but the most successful ones have the ability to take the top off at times as well.

Dink and dunking is different than checking down. The Patriots offense attacked the field horizontally and used the abilities of their receivers to cut upfield and gain large chunks of YAC.

Smith checked down a shitload, which, when you have backs like Gore, which will inflate your YPA.

LOL you're right you don't which makes it all the more puzzling that you don't understand what YPA is, especially because the name is self explanatory. You said all he does in dink and dunk but his YPA suggests otherwise.

LOL yup all those checkdowns to Gore that's it. Obviously you don't watch Smith or the 49ers. Gore had all of 17 catches in 2011 and 28 in 2012, but a lot of those were from Kaepernick.
