New Years in San Diego

The wife and I are going to be in San Diego for New Years Eve and the Chiefs game on the 2nd. We're looking for a bar to party at on New Years and hope some locals can offer some good advice.

We will be staying in Old Town and figure we will go to the Gas Lamp area to party. I would like to find a nice restaurant to eat at that evening and then a close-by bar to ring in the New Year.

Any other Planeteers that are going to be there (I know there will be some, Endelt for one), feel free to chime in.
