Does that mean those teams should have let those stars walk? What's the most we would be "overpaying" Branden Albert? To cement a key fixture to any team for 5 years, how much would we be overpaying what he's actually worth? 2 million/year?

To be honest, I think Brandon Flowers is getting overpaid. If we want to start throwing that bullshit around, we should trade HIS ass, then draft one of these ultra-talented guys who will drop in this draft.

THAT would be a smart "business" move. Flushing the #1 overall to save $4 million or so is idiocy.
Joe Flacco won a ring.

Larry Fitzgerald skill is worth his payday.

Putting Brendan Albert in this discussion shows that you've lost your ****ing mind.

Where the **** did this mindset even come from?

If you have an above average LT, then ****ing pay the man. Overpay him if you have to. It's just stupid to mortgage the future of the offensive line over the chance of saving a few million bucks. Because guess what, if you draft a LT at 1.1, he's going to eventually want a huge contract as well. Despite whether he's actually better than the guy he replaced. If you want quality stability at the LT position, it's going to cost you and rightly so. Why is it that people are willing to let Albert walk over a few million a year of Hunt's money, but yet wouldn't think twice about spending draft picks on the same position?

It's OK to pay your priority positions. There's lots of positions where you can fill at discount prices. But at LT, it's not worth the risk. Gambling that some unknown you draft will be sufficient is a huge risk. And at 1.1, it's just not worth it.

This sounds like a good business plan.
Tackles can play at a high level until well into their thirties. Brandon Albert is 28 and an ascending player.

Because of his back. What happens if you have a franchise LT that has back spasms all year? Then were up shit creek and stuck. I like BA and would like to keep him but i can see both sides

going into a season with an Oline full of guys with less than 3 years starting in the NFL is risky as ****.

couple that with a QB that needs a clean pocket or he shits the bed and your just being reckless.

Exactly but who do we take? Who is the elite prospect at 1. Myself i would of just taken Geno, kept the 34 overall pick and signed Albert if its within reason

His back is not an issue. If there was any doubt at all, they wouldn't be paying him $10M this year. That excuse is worthless.

Plus, you're advocating replacing him with someone who's never taken a single NFL snap. You're completely neglecting the risk in that....
