Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
Anyone else keen on his new show? The guy is hilarious and has a great perspective from the outside.
He did a tremendous job filling in for Stewart while on extended hiatus making his movie.

I think Stewat is a great interviewer, but everything else he's become a caricature of himself.

though, I record the shows and fast forward through the interviews of whatever book etc they're pimping.

That is what I liked about it. He just destroyed Fifa, but acknowledged that he still is excited for the World Cup. That is me in a nutshell when it comes to college athletics.

So Oliver has pretty much wrapped up a Peabody for this show, right? The way he takes really important and complicated subjects and breaks them down to easy to understand and entertaining segments is amazing.

He's done a wonderful job of taking The Daily Show premise and really making it his own. I also like an outside perspective (him being British) in addressing American culture and issues. He's a transplant that is clearly an enthusiast of a lot of what America offers and their spirit and attitude, so it doesn't come off as an elitist ill informed take where it seems he's just turning his nose up at American culture and society.

I'm equally interested in seeing what Larry Wilmore does when he replaces The Colbert Report after TDS. His show will be called The Minority Report- but the format will have a lot more guest panels and roundtable debates within the show.

It seems like he's really found his footing, and the show is getting better all the time. Still weird to hear him cuss..lol

IIRC he's still on his green card, but following whatever steps are necessary to take an Oath of Citizenship in the future. Further, he's married to a US Servicewoman, who ironically he met at the 2008 Republican Convention. He was a correspondent without press credentials, and she was a part of a group he met who let him hang out in their office space when the 'heavies' came around looking for non-credentialed press.
