2014 Broncos Offseason postmortem
In the offseason Denver signed

Aqib Talib (6 years, $57 million, $26 million guaranteed)
TJ Ward (4 years, $22 million, $15 million guaranteed)
Demarcus Ware (3 years, $30 million, $20 million guaranteed)
Emmanuel Sanders (3 years, $15 million, $6 million guaranteed)

...and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth around here.

Peyton Manning's base salary next year goes from $15 million to $19 million, and Denver's penalty for cutting him would drop from $22 million to $5 million.

Denver's team was built for this season, and they have failed with a one-and-done in the postseason.

Furthermore, how did those free agents look today, when it mattered?

Bought teams don't work and never have. You can't get the most out players when they are only there for money. Denver had no desire and were not hungry enough to win. Players drafted that don't have their big pay day and want to make a name for themselves to possibly get more money will ay harder.

None of their bought super studs did anything nkte worthy yesterday except lose.

Everybody knew Manning couldn't make the long throws anymore. Stop the YAC and you stop Manning.

Crazy that Von didn't do anything yesterday. Good Christ is this guy overrated. Houston is the best pass rusher of all the LB's in that draft.

Therein lies a bit of a problem for them.

Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Orlando Franklin, and basically everyone on that offense will be expecting a blockbuster deal for their production with Manning. Once he leaves, they won't produce nearly as much.

So if the Manning we saw over the last 2 months was injured thay bad and those performances gave them or they thought that would give them the best chance to win, what's that say about osweiler.

Von was actrocious. Just an absolute failure of a game by him and every guy they bought in the off-season. Every damn one was invisible ecxept for Talib because he got roasted. Houston is so much better than post roids Von it is ridiculous.

Denver lost yesterday because of Manning's play. All the signings on this list worked out just fine.

Could see Manning restructuring and coming back for one more year.
