I think I have that exact model, but mine is two years old. I've been very satisfied with it, and paid about three times that price for it.

I like it and bought it primarily because it has a high contrast ratio, which is good for brighter rooms. I put it in my kitchen, which gets a lot of light.

That said, I bought a Sony Bravia for my TV room, and people who have seen it have commented that it's got the best picture they've ever seen. It's a newer TV, of course. We liked the Panasonic enough that we were going to just buy a bigger one, but when we saw the Sony's picture, our jaws dropped and we bought it instead.

I don't have a Panasonic TV, but I do think Panasonic makes top notch electronics. They are also usually cheaper than the other top competitors. I have a Panasonic 5 disc dvd player/surround unit as well as a Panasonic HD camcorder. Both have been great.

Get it. $500 for that is not a bad deal. I bought my 32" Vizio 18 months ago for $600.

I had two 32" tube TV's for a dozen years, one in the bedroom and one in the family room. So in 2005 when I bought a new Sony HD TV for the family room I chose a 42" thinking that was plenty big. I only sit about 12' from the set but finally a year ago I moved the 42" TV to the bedroom and replaced it with a 50" Panasonic plasma HD. That was the best thing I ever did, the 50" is just right in that room and the 42" is perfect in the bedroom. Also, consider the added expense if you have to upgrade to digital cable or satellite plus an HD box, to me the price of the TV is nothing compared to what I have to pay Directv. It almost doesn't seem worthwhile to buy a 32" unless it's going in an office or small bedroom.

Let me guess:

You: "Officer, I was burgalrized and my Tv was stolen."

Officer Fife: "That's a shame. We've had about 500 burglaries in the last 3 months in this area".

You: Any leads?

Officer Fife: "No, we don't even try..... I mean we have bigger fish to fry." Insurance should cover you.

You: I'm a renter. I don't have ...

O.F. "That's a shame. Okay we have to go".

You: "That's it? That's the investigation"?

O.F. "Hey! We took your statement. What more you want? You got a problem"?

You: "Well, I was hoping for.....

O.F: "Well you hoped wrong, Mr Rodney King of Queens. Do I smell weed? Is that a ... a seed? Probably a dealer.[Guns drawn] Get on the ground! Get on the ground!!! Call backup/SWAT!! : [Nightsticks at the ready]. Get him"! Wham!!! wham!!!!

"You have the...[ whack!!! ] ...right to remain ...[whack] ... silent! You have the right to be merandized by having the police violate you with a broomstick. If you choose to be sodomi....err...merandized, it may be held against you in a court of law. Got that MF'er"!!!????

Was that how it went, Can?

honestly?

yes....the police didn't give a crap, I even have a witness who can ID the kid and they've never contacted her....we even held community meetings with the police due to the volume of thefts and break-ins, and nothing changed

i live in a predominately african-american community and i can understand why they have such a low opinion of the police...

I'm thinking about buying a Panasonic 50" Plasma 1080. Have you had good luck with yours? I just bought my folks a 42" Panasonic Plasma for just under $1000. They love it.
