Would you trade Flowers next year?

For a 2nd round pick? We've seen the defense play just as good if not better without him.

If Cooper continues to play like he has been you have him on a 4 year 7th round pick deal.

You have to pay Justin Houston. I wouldn't be surprised to see Charles hold out given the way he's being used and his current bargain contract.

IIRC Berrys contract will be up in a few years too.

The defense is set the offense needs a lot of improvement obviously. An extra pick would help. I would make that trade.

I'm no cap guru but I think we could free up quite a bit of space by extending Berry and either signing Albert to a long term deal or releasing him.

Houston will need a lot of money so he's going to be a big hit starting very soon. You'd have to imagine that they'll want to lock Smith up as well (barf!).

Hali is taking up a shit ton of space; maybe we could restructure somehow to bring his hit down.

Easily.

You can restructure guys, naturally let guys leave, Dunta for sure wont be back, they don't have max draft picks to worry about signing.

I believe that Chase Daniel will be gone next year, which will open up another three mil.

They should get Albert signed to a longer deal that will be more cap friendly with more guaranteed money.

And, furthermore, its WAY too early to be talking about NEXT SEASON.

This isn't Cleveland for Christ's sakes.

I forgot about Albert. He needs to be a priority. Even with an AC sprain he's easily been the best OL on the team.

Anyway I disagree with you. Sure Flowers is a top 20 corner but a pass rush always trumps a secondary. We already have that. You can always find Tracy Porters of thr world to fill in for a couplenof yeara and do a decent job.

This offense has a lot of holes. The interior line needs to be addressed, the tight end position, WR's, and you need to develop a QB.

They go hand in hand. They really do. I believe the pass rush is essential to the secondary, but having three quality corners in this league to be a dominant defense is not only a must, but its a luxury.

You don't give that up I don't believe.

Especially when you have wes welker in your division.

Restructuring Eric Berry would make for an excellent start. Losing 15 million in dead money sounds pretty nice as well. If there is a trade target next year it is Tamba Hali.

I'm just saying he is the only guy who we could get anything for that would result in substantial cap savings.

Uhhhh. how about just a restructure. He is probably the most underrated player in football right now. Yes, he got defensive player of the week, but Houston has gotten most of the pub, and lets not kid ourselves, Hali has been the best CHIEFS defensive player all year.

And that's saying something because guys like DJ, HOUSTON, POE, DEVITO, BERRY, have been playing their best ball of their careers.

Hali is that important to this team.

Hali's structure is pretty team friendly really. It allows us to totally cut bait in 2015 if we want to.
