How could anyone have not seen this coming. I am as big a Smith fan as there is, and I could see it coming. Anyone who knows anything about football could see this coming. Smith-fans and Smith-haters alike. The team was decent last year, beating the teams they should beat and were very competitive against the better teams they lost to. Instead of building off that team by fixing a number of problems in the off season, they allowed the problems to get worse. If Smith is just somehow supposed to magically make everyone around him better and rise above the cluster-**** of this off-season, how do you explain Manning and the Broncos?

The Broncos, with arguably the best QB in the history of the game, were very active in the offseason, spending a ton of money to give Manning the weapons he needed and bolster up their defense. If they have the greatest QB of all time, why the need to spend that money?

Oline, WR, Secondary. Now with Johnson and DeVito out for the season.... No QB can overcome that. You should all be thanking Dorsey and Reid for not throwing a 1st round rookie QB in here because the Chiefs would have ruined him this year.

I still chuckle (or roll my eyes, depending on mood) about how caught up people are in "being right" or snickering at others "being wrong."

It's quite silly. I mean, who gives a shit? What, do any of us get paid for our "expert" analysis? Is anyone really impressed? Seems so childish and petty.

Which begs the question that I have yet to see an Alex fan answer......

WHY would you pay a QB $17M a season, if the aforementioned problems with the WRs and OL would prevent any QB from being successful?
