I love Full Metal Jacket, but this isn't even a close call:
The Longest Day. Wayne, Mitchum, Fonda, Connery and several more. Easily my favorite war movie, I watch it every Memorial Day.

My favorite war movie is not really a movie. It's a documentary called, Baker Boys: Inside the surge. It's has a very personal meaning to me.
As far a actual war movie goes. I would have to say little known, 84 Charlie Mopic tops the list. |
